My Health Record

Montana Medicaid now allows members to access their personal Patient Summary information. Clients will be able to view a summarized version of their Medicaid health record information based on Medicaid claims that have been paid.  Each member will also have access to summarized information for their Medicaid dependents when they validate their relationship with each dependent.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Can I view my health record information?
Yes. Your personal health record information is available to you in a Patient Summary via the Recipient Access application and the “My Health Record” link on the public webpage. This information will be limited to information contained in paid Medicaid claims.
  • What do I need to view my health record information?
First you will need to register and create your own ID and password for Recipient Access. In order to view your health record information from paid Medicaid claims you will need your Medicaid ID and your date of birth or your last name as it appears in all your Medicaid records.
  • How do I view my dependent’s health record information?
Once you have registered for Recipient Access, you will need your dependent’s Medicaid ID and either their date of birth or their last name. You will be required to verify that you have a relationship with this dependent. Once the relationship has been verified, you will create a code that will allow you to access this patient’s paid Medicaid claim information. You then may view the Patient Summary information for that dependent.
  • What security is in place to make sure my health information is not accessed by someone who should not see it?
A user MUST verify they have a legal relationship and authority to access a patient’s paid Medicaid claim healthcare information. Each time a user attempts to access any patient’s information they will be prompted to enter a security PIN that indicates they have been verified and that they have the authority to access the patient’s healthcare information. All access is also subject to audit by the State of Montana.
